Samsung came with an official announcement that also other smartphones the Android 7.0 Nougat update. The smartphones that are covered below are the Samsung Galaxy S6 (Edge) (Plus), Samsung Galaxy 5, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A with S Pen, the Samsung Galaxy A3, the Samsung Galaxy A8 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 (LTE-version).

It was to be expected that the update would roll out, but thanks to the official message, we know for sure. Also the tablet Samsung Galaxy A3 get the update, but it is to the time of writing, still unclear as to which models this applies to. There are different models released in the 2015, 2016 and 2017.

Also, Huawei will have a few days to start with the roll-out of Android Nougat and EMUI 5.0 to the Honor 8. This is announced via Twitter. The smartphone will receive the full update and will soon be on all Honor 8 smartphones. Huawei Japan has promised the update to roll out on 16 January, so within a month, these devices are of the last update.

Xperia Z5 series

in Addition to the Honor 8 and Samsung, also get Sony Xperia Z5 and Z5 Premium a Android Nougat update. There was a lot of criticism on these smartphones, but if it is good, this update corrects a large part of the problems. This update fixes among other relatively major bugs that were still present on the Sony Xperia Z5 and Z5 Premium.
