Celebrating 75 years of Blue Note jazz – Dagblad de Limburger

-> AMSTERDAM (Reuters) – The Concertgebouw in Amsterdam Thursday celebrates the 75th anniversary of the American jazz label Blue Note. The Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw concert live and there are performances by the American tenor saxophonist Benny Golson and vocalist Jose James.

 Blue Note Records, founded in 1939 in New York, is one of the major record companies for jazz music and knew through the years becoming binding, including John Coltrane, Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock.
Great jazz talents are
 Blue Note is co-organizer of the concert in Amsterdam, because the Concert Jazz always cares about. The “living legend” Golson (85) joined the 50 already in the temple of music. The saxophonist played with famous jazz names like Lionel Hampton, Dizzy Gillespie and Art Blakey. Some of his compositions became world famous by the performances of Miles Davis. His compatriot James (36) applies, as one of the greatest jazz talents of the moment.”
