The tablet market is in two split up to it. On the one hand you have small, inexpensive devices that are mainly used to consume media. The 7 “tablet of 199 or less. On the other hand, you have devices that also – or even primarily – are used to perform work. In the latter category, you have the Microsoft Surface Pro, but this Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2.
If tablet is the Galaxy Pro 12.2 simply fantastic -., But it may also, for this price. Despite the larger screen, it is not much bigger or heavier than many 10-inchers. That extra screen space is very addictive, if you’ve worked on it a few hours seems an iPad Air suddenly extremely tight
However, the extra space is really useful if you want to get your work done.. If you recall a keyboard on the screen, then there’s that one with figures and some of the most common punctuation marks. That alone saves a lot of time when you need to enter data. Connect an external keyboard to, then you really like working on a laptop.
Android is not for laptops
Or not. We can run on the Galaxy Pro different apps side by side, like on a “real” laptop. But you do not really notice that Android was designed for. It is possible, for example, to open on the left side of your screen, the Chrome browser and apps like Evernote on the right. You can even get up to four apps on the screen simultaneously. But the device is immediately noticeably slower. This is multitasking like Microsoft did in 1990, with Windows 3.0. Presumably we collide here, especially at the borders of the ARM chip architecture, whose brute strength is not really against the Intel chips.
But Intel chips then jump again not so economical with your battery. On that level to score the Galaxy Pro better: 10 hours watching film is not a problem. And Note Pro still has quite some advantages. Not only the screen but the sound is excellent, with speakers on either side of the unit. The back is made of plastic, as we Samsung just that, but the device feels less cheap than some other models. In terms of software, we get a lot of perks, some of which are quite interesting. Besides the usual Android desktop is also an alternative home screen with widgets like tile. It looks more like Windows 8 than on Android, but it turns out to be quite usefulThis is just about the most expensive Android tablet that you can buy today:. At the base price of 749 you still need 129 euro charge for a modified keyboard. Such a high price creates expectations that this unit can not quite true. And so we continue to do a little sit on our hunger.
