Google releases since last summer a monthly security update for the Android operating system. Samsung tries these security updates regularly roll out to several of its earlier smartphones. In December 2015 received the Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge the latest security update. Instead of a monthly security update Samsung now seems therefore to have chosen one security update quarterly.
No Android 6.0 Marshmallow
While security the three devices is improved with the update, the update will still not where users of the devices really are waiting. All three devices include still running Android 5.1 Lollipop and many users of these three smartphones hope to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Probably the Android 6.0 update Marshmallow in the course of this spring. For the Samsung Galaxy S5, which this month celebrates its second anniversary, this will likely be the last major update that will receive the device. Possible that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, which will celebrate its second anniversary in September this year, later this year will receive an update to Android N.
