Portable Gear compares the main specifications (display, operating system, memory, camera, processor, camera and connectivity) of the Galaxy Mega 6.3 with Samsung’s two other top models, the Samsung Galaxy S4 (i9500) and Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (N7100).

Display

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 has a 6.3-inch touchscreen and is larger than the 5-inch Galaxy S4 and the 5.55-inch Galaxy Note 2. However, the Mega 6.3 has a lower screen resolution (720 x 1280 HD) than the Galaxy S4 (1080 x 1920 Full HD): the Note 2 also has a 720p HD screen. The Galaxy Mega 6.3 also makes use of a less advanced display technology (LCD PLS) than the S4 and Note 2 (both of which have a SuperAMOLED screen).


OS

Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 and Galaxy S4 come with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The Galaxy Note 2 comes initially with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean: is an Android 4.2 update. Processor

Galaxy S4 has the most powerful processor of the three models, the device features a 1.9 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset 600 (with 2GB RAM). The S4 is closely followed by the Galaxy Note 2 with a 1.6 GHz quad-core Samsung Exynos 4412 Quad chipset (with 2GB RAM). The Galaxy Mega 6.3 has less processing power with a 1.7 GHz dual-core Samsung Exynos 5250 dual-core chipset (with 1.5 GB of RAM).


Connectivity

Galaxy Mega 6.3, Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 2 all offer excellent connectivity with support for WiFi, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, 4G/LTE (optional on the Note 2), 3G/HSDPA, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0. The Mega 6.3 and S4 addition also support IR (infrared), which they are using. As remote control for your TV IR support is lacking on the Note 2.


S-Pen stylus

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 comes with the pressure-sensitive S Pen stylus. standard With the S Pen, you can write on the device and on plain paper, but the digital opportunities are bigger and smarter.
