We have some time to wait, but the international Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with model number SM-N9005 has finally received the Android 5.0 update Lollipop. This is the Android 5.0 update for the Galaxy Note 3 with Snapdragon SOC 800, the version sold here in the Netherlands. Users can update via OTA (over-the-air) functionality trying to install, but the firmware can also be downloaded separately for a manual installation.
Earlier, Samsung released the Android 5.0 update is already out for the Exynos version of the Galaxy Note 3. Currently, the Korean company in the Netherlands, the Galaxy 3 and Galaxy S5 features of the update, while the Galaxy Note and Galaxy Note 4 Edge still waiting
For now Samsung seems to have the updates faster ready for the devices that use an internally developed Exynos SOC, because to date these models always previously had a turn with the different Android 5.0 updates. Possible to develop updates for these models a bit easier because the Exynos developed by Samsung itself.
In any case remarkable to see that the Android 5.0 update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 now already available, while many Dutch Galaxy Note and Galaxy Note 4 Edge users are still waiting for update for the Snapdragon 805 variant. According to recent rumors, the discs would be 4 updates are delayed by compatibility issues with the Gear VR goggles, but the update was released earlier this week already for the Exynos version.
The update for the Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N9005 ) is certainly ready and available in the following countries: England, Austria, Germany, Poland, Switzerland, Hungary, Czech Republic and Romania. Netherlands is not among these countries, however, the official update is also available for download. This is a firmware that was released in Poland, but is just available in Dutch
