Samsung Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II have no Android Lollipop – Techzine

Samsung announced in the UK that the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II will be no update to Android 5.0 Lollipop. This is more or less come to an end the life of these devices. Because they receive no more updates they become increasingly susceptible to vulnerabilities in Android.

Samsung has decided to make the Samsung Galaxy S III and Samsung Galaxy Note II is no longer to feature Android Updates . Android 5.0 Lollipop appears only for the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and later.

For owners of these devices means that they are not new Android features should not expect more unless they move to ROMs third parties such as CyanogenMod. In the longer term, however, it also means that these devices will lack the necessary security updates so that the risks of vulnerability will increase. Samsung does qualify as just the general agreement Android devices to provide a minimum of eighteen months of updates. The Samsung Galaxy S III is now three years old, the Galaxy Note II reached that age in September. Nevertheless, the owners of such equipment quite annoying.
