The French manufacturer Archos unveiled last week three new Oxygen tablets, which we will see for the first time at Mobile World Congress. Now the company has also presented two phablets equipped with MediaTek chipsets and screens of 5.5 and 6.0 inches respectively. Especially the 2 Diamond Plus offers an interesting picture in terms of hardware for the price of € 299.00.
Archos 2 Diamond Plus
The second plus is the smaller of the two and contains a 5.5 inch IPS screen with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The Helio P10 chipset is present, achtkernige a variant which is provided with two quad-clusters. Four cores are clocked at 1.2GHz and two four cores at 2.0GHz. The video chip is the Mali T860MP2 and FrontCam is an 8 megapixel camera.
On the back is a 20.7-megapixel sensor from Sony provided and the battery has a capacity of 3000mAh. There’s 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory available. The 2 Plus includes a C USB port with support for fast charging. A fingerprint scanner is also available and the device obviously has WiFi, GPS, LTE, Bluetooth and comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Archos Diamond 2 Note
The Diamond 2 Note contains a 6 inch screen with 2K resolution, or 2560×1440 pixels and also in this unit is a 2.5D layer of glass present. The Helio X10 also contains eight cores and 32GB storage memory is available, and 3GB RAM. The camera on the back is a 16 megapixel copy while FrontCam has an 8-megapixel resolution and as the 2 Diamond Plus features a wide-angle lens. The battery has a capacity of 3610mAh and this handset also supports fast charging. There is also an infrared sensor installed in order to use the device as a remote control.
Availability
Both devices we will be extensively seen at the Mobile World Congress, but from May should devices are actually for sale. The Diamond 2 Plus will cost € 299.00, while the Diamond 2 discs € 349.00 must muster.
