Samsung considering dual-edge display in Galaxy Note 5 Edge – GSM Helpdesk Netherlands

A Samsung executive from the product strategy team during a Q & amp; A session confirmed the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Edge might also want to go with a dual-edge display features. The company was currently considering the possibilities.

Roh Tae-moon, vice president of product strategy team at Samsung, confirmed during a question and answer session at the Mobile World Congress that the company’s possibilities looking for the dual-edge display from the recently announced Galaxy S6 Edge also stop other high-end models. It is thus in line with expectations that the successor to the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, is expected in September of a dual-edge display update.

The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge was at the launch at IFA September 2014, received critical. Critics had their doubts about the value of the curved screen. Although the Edge screen is a nice gimmick, the actual functionality was somewhat disappointing. The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge therefore more like a kind of trial balloon, where Samsung was seeking what the curvature needed.

The dual-edge display of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Samsung seems to have a much better direction already found. The curvature is much less severe than in the Galaxy Note Edge and also the widget bar is gone. Samsung has the Galaxy S6 Edge ensured that the dual-edge edges are not used as separate screens, but actually one with the device.

Thanks to this development, combined with beautiful design , the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge was also very well received at the Mobile World Congress. Partly due to the overwhelming response Samsung seems to want to put the edge trend in other high-end devices that the company intends to announce the coming period.

The Samsung Galaxy Note ’5′ Edge will probably in September be announced at the IFA in Berlin, together with a “normal” variant of the popular phablet. The Edge display according to Samsung currently still in its infancy in terms of overall functionality for developers. However, the company promises several SDKs and APIs that enable developers to come up with useful applications.
