‘Design flaws in the battery’s Note 7 cause of short circuit” – Personal Computer Magazine

After months of research, Samsung has identified that the Galaxy Note 7 was so sensitive for a short circuit, with exploding devices. On two occasions, there were errors made in the build of the batteries.

Samsung wanted to in the Note 7, a substantial battery life in a slim smartphone. But that also made sure that the battery is too tight inside the housing was built. The negative electrodes arcs are therefore reduced in the corners, with short-circuiting as a result.

When problems arose, pulled Samsung the phones back. The alternative models of bleaching, however, also flame to catch, which again was due to a manufacturing error. In some cases it was the electrical tape is damaged, or was missing the tape entirely.

Research

Samsung switched in the analysis of the problems, three independent research firms. The last time investigated a staff of 700 to 200,000 phones and 30,000 batteries. The findings were then shared in a press conference.

In this presentation it has become clear how Samsung dangerous situations in the future wants to avoid. Batteries are in the sequel much more extensively tested. So among other things with x-rays being done to see how the battery in the telephone performs.

Also, in the sequel better look at the placement of the batteries, and every battery on the inside been thoroughly investigated. In addition, batteries of the future phones also software held in check.

Result

The Galaxy Note 7 is in the Netherlands, never to purchase. According to Samsung are now 96 percent of the three million phones in the company returned. The Samsung Galaxy S8 is finally out later than expected. That was before the end of February expected.
