What Is the Difference Between Samsung Galaxy Note 1 & 2? - Opposing Views

Samsung Launched the successor to its Galaxy Note device in late 2012, favoring an all-around upgrade rather than a complete reinvention of the wheel. Like the first Galaxy Note, the Galaxy Note II blends the functions and design qualities of a smartphone with Those of a tablet – as its name implies, the gadget’s stylus-heavy touchscreen interface Focuses on jotting down notes and ideas on the fly. Although the Note II does not render obsolete the original model, it does offer plenty of hardware and software refinements.

Similarities

The Galaxy Note and Note II share identical connectivity features. Both run on 4G LTE networks and feature HSPA + connections or up to 21 megabytes-per-second as well as 802.11 Wi-Fi connections. Both phones feature HD Super AMOLED display, and both sport rear-facing 8-megapixel cameras. The Note and Note II cameras front differential just barely, at 2.0 and 1.9 megapixels, respectively. These smartphones both record and play videos at 1080p HD resolutions, and they support the same video and audio codecs. For sensors, both models feature built-in accelerometers, digital compasses, proximity sensors, barometers and gyros.

Design Features

The most apparent difference between the two Galaxy Notes is the screen size: the Note II expands the original’s 5.3-inch screen to 5.5 inches. As a longer and thinner screen, the Note II has a 720-by-1280 pixel aspect radio with 267 pixels-per-inch, Compared to the Note’s 800-by-1200 pixel, 285ppi screen. The actual body of the Note II reflects this change, as it’s about 0:06 inches .01 inches narrower and thinner than the original discs. However, the newer model is roughly 0:05 inches longer. The Note II usefull loses the textured backside of the Note, opting instead for a smoother casing.

Internal Hardware

The Note II’s 1.6 gigahertz quad-core processor cleanly outclasses its predecessor’s 1.4 GHz dual-core processor. With the addition of a 3,100 milliamp-hour battery – more powerful than the Galaxy Note’s 2,500 mAh battery – the Note II features longer battery life. The Note II usefull upgrades the mobile’s Bluetooth capabilities from Bluetooth 3.0 to Bluetooth 4.0 and bumps the device’s maximum internal memory capacity from 32 gigabytes to 64 gigabytes.

Interface and Software

Both the Galaxy Note and Galaxy Note II use Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface and the S Pen stylus smart, The Latter Of which features “hovering” functionality for the Note II, but not for the original device.
