Samsung has rolled out its latest iteration of Jelly Bean firmware, Android 4.1.2 XXDMG1, for Galaxy Note N7100 2 in Several countries. The latest official firmware brings bug fixes and performance improvements over its previous release.

The firmware is now available for download as an Over-The-Air (OTA) update as well as via Samsung KIES. However, Those who missed the official OTA update notification and Those Who can not access the update on Samsung SELECT for some reason can still download and install the same manually, using our step-by-step guide.

Pre-requisites

  • XXDMG1 The Jelly Bean firmware works with Galaxy Note N7100 2 model only and will be incompatible with other models. Attempting to install this firmware on incompatible devices May inadvertently brick or damage the device. Verify the device model number by navigating to Settings> About Phone.
  • Necessary
  • Download and install the USB drivers for your phone on your computer.
  • Enable USB debugging mode on the phone by navigating to Settings> Developer Options.
  • Backup your important data and settings on the phone via ClockworkMod (CWM) recovery or TWRP.
  • Ensure the phone is factory unlocked as well as its bootloader unlocked.
  • Make sure the phone has at least 80% battery charge to preventable unexpected device shutdown (due to battery drain) during firmware installation.

How to Update Galaxy Note N7100 2 to Latest Android 4.1.2 XXDMG1 Jelly Bean Official Firmware

Step 1 . Extract the firmware zip file you downloaded That Earlier using winrar or 7zip or winzip to get a tar.md5 file and some other files

Step 2 : Extract Odin zip file to Obtain Odin3 v3.07.exe alongwith few other files

.

Step 3 : Power off the phone and wait for the vibration (about 5-6 seconds) to confirm complete shutdown device

.

Step 4 : Boot the device into Download Mode by pressing and holding Volume Down , Home and Power buttons together until a construction Android robot icon appears with a warning triangle on screen. Now hit the Volume Up button to enter Download Mode.

Step 5 : Launch Odin on your computer as an Administrator, as admin privileges are required to complete the firmware installation smoothly

Step 6 : Connect the phone to computer via USB cable while the phone is still in Download Mode. Wait until the device is detected in Odin Odin. When the device connects successfully, its ID: COM box will turn blue thing with the corresponding COM port number. Besides, a message saying “Added!” appears on screen if the device is successfully connected.

Step 7 : Select the following files in Odin from extracted N7100XXDMG1 firmware folder via respective checkboxes:

  • Choose the PDA checkbox, and select the file named . tar or. md5 .
  • Click the Phone checkbox, and select the file with modem in its name (ignore if there is no such file)
  • Select the CSC checkbox, and choose the file named CSC (ignore if such file is missing)
  • Click the PIT checkbox, and select the . kernel file. Use only obtained while extracting the file in step 1, otherwise just ignore it.

Step 8 : In Odin, enable Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time checkboxes. Also, Ensure the Re-Partition checkbox is chosen only if a. Zip file was selected in the previous step.

Step 9 : Double-check to see That Step 7 and Step 8 are done Correctly. Then hit START button to start the installation process.

Step 10 : After the firmware installation completes, your phone will reboot and soon a PASS message with green background appears in the left-most box at the very top of Odin. You can now remove the USB cable to disconnect the device from your computer.

Samsung Galaxy Note N7100 2 is now updated with official Android 4.1.2 firmware XXDMG1 Jelly Bean. Go to Settings> About Phone to Verify the firmware installed.

Note : If the phone is stuck at booting animation or facing walking boot Issues after Step 10, then go to recovery mode (press and hold the Volume Up, Home and Power buttons together). Now perform Wipe data / factory reset and Wipe Cache Partition task before choosing reboot system now . In recovery mode, use volume keys to navigate between options and Power key to select an option. Please note that performing wiping task will erase the device’s internal memory and not external SD card data.
